If the relationship between the parents is fractured, or breaks down, the problems which develop invariably divert attention and energy from the parenting process. Augustus believes more of our future parents would save themselves time (and money) if they were provided with greater information regarding their legal rights and obligations and responsibilities around issues arising from procreation at around the same time as they are made aware that sexual attraction is a (primarily pleasurable) potential consequence of male/female interaction. Drawing from the emphasis of his best-selling and award-garnering BabyFather novels, WEEKEND FATHERS finds Augustus taking a cold-eyed look at jaundiced relationships in the real world as he provides a host of men from variant backgrounds and myriad situations with legal advice on how to minimise the damage arising from their shattered relationships and how to maximise their effectiveness as parents.
