During the 1980s I took an inventory of my life. I took my lead from my mother, who always encouraged my siblings and myself to follow our own paths and to respond to the inner voice we all harbour inside ourselves. I decided I could no longer relax, or curly perm my hair as it had broken off once too often. I decided that I would buck the trend of the era to allow my hair to be as natural, wild and free, as I wanted her to be. I let my hair grow and eschewed the use of all combs, other than my fingers.
My love affair with my locs has lasted for your 20 years. I have enjoyed playing, teasing, steaming, nurturing my locs. I have styled them with adornments, piled them into a bewildering enchanting array of coiffures and interpretations. I have chosen my own path and taken my own journey, seeking advice and assistance along the way but at all times remembering that my path was unique.
I have used various products over the years in search of what formulae and concoctions might be best for my hair – from the natural herbal rinses my mother used to grow in her garden, such as rosemary, lavender and different oils, Rosemary Oil being one of them, all the way to the latest and most in vogue manufactured products and treatments – and made my way full circle back to the holistic products developed by my mother as I attribute her beauty care regime as a primary factor in her enjoying the possession of gloriously black, vigorous hair all the days of her life. Although my journey has often been arduous and I have, on occasion, had to defend my lifestyle choices to those who criticize through lack of understanding, I have found my relationship with myself through my hair has continued improving and developing more positively as the years have gone by. My advice to anyone would encourage them to look after their crowning glory and treat it with respect and enjoy the evolving process and changes, which your hair (and, ultimately, you) will go though.

EXPERIENCE
I have over 18 years professional experience in styling and cultivating dreadlocs, my client base stretches across Britain and includes people who reside in France and Holland. I have participated in Fashion & Hair shows in America, and also across Europe as a model. I have enjoyed a delightful association with the ground breaking Adornment organization in London as a Fashion & Hair model since 2004.
BEAUTIFUL SKIN
Currently, I am channeling my time and creative energy into the development of my newly formed company, AzizA Natural Beauty Products.
I specialize in homemade Natural Hair products consisting of pure Organic Oils eg: Jojoba, Wheat Germ, Olive Oil, plus various Essentials oils e.g. Ylang Ylang, Lavender & Rose to name but a few. I also specialize in a range of Shea Butter Product, which incorporates Shea Butter from Togo and Ghana, which are made into organic products and mixed with invigorating and energizing essential oils.
We live in an age where almost everything we can image appears to be available to us. Most women encounter moments of insecurity and experience anxiety concerning our looks and body image. None of us are perfect, but few of us truly require the type of invasive cosmetic surgery that the media claims an increasing number of women appear to be participating in. Nevertheless, a little pampering and indulgence can go a long way towards elevating a woman’s (or a man’s) self image and allow us to enhance our external countenance and develop the beauty of the person within. We are, each of us unique and many of us need to remind ourselves that we deserve to be cherished; we need to hardly ever burden ourselves on our nearest and dearest if we take just that little bit of time to comfort ourselves and the skin we find ourselves in. Therefore, I have devised an aphorism for my AzizA Product Range, as I tell me potential clientele that my products and treatments are “For The Queens and Kings You Intend To Become”. Long may we all reign!
